Old Crow Medicine Show - "Live at the Ryman"
Building from the momentum for the documentary "Country Music" by Ken Burns, Old Crow Medicine Show decided to release a live album from the Ryman Auditorium. It would be made up of recordings from their numerous shows at the Mother Church. Having created many of the posters for these shows, Old Crow reached out to Hatch to create the album cover and showcase these posters. Working directly with frontman Ketch Secor, I designed and printed elements that would make up the cover design. To do this, I created a collage of the scanned posters from Hatch's archive for the background. The band name and album title were then handset in wood type, along with a magnesium plate of the Ryman Auditorium. The bold wood type served as something readable across digital and analog music platforms, and yet keep with the history of the Ryman and Hatch.
